January featured some interesting flavor profiles, including a peanut butter Irish cream and a toasted vanilla bourbon salt. In addition, the month saw the release of two tequilas finished in bourbon barrels: Dos Primos Tequila Añejo and Espanita Double Barrel Reposado Tequila. Heaven’s Door Releases “Bootleg Series IV”
Bob Dylan-backed Heaven’s Door is releasing its Bootleg Series Vol. IV. The ultra-premium release is an 11-year-old wheated bourbon. This is the latest installment of the Bootleg Series, which is a portfolio of rare whiskeys and blends that debuts annually.
The offering is finished in Islay Scotch Casks and bottled at 111 proof. The new product features handmade ceramic bottles that display an oil painting by Bob Dylan himself. The 55.5% ABV bourbon retails for an SRP of $499.99 on the producer’s official website and at select retailers nationwide. (Source)
Four Roses Distillery and OSMO Salt Create Toasted Vanilla Bourbon Salt
Four Roses is taking a new approach this Valentine’s Day, with news that the bourbon brand is unveiling its first-ever co-branded culinary product: OSMO x Four Roses Toasted Vanilla Bourbon Salt. This is likewise, the first spirits-infused product from the premium brand OSMO Salt. Four Roses Small Batch Bourbon is poured over red sea salt and evaporated using solar light and wind components to obtain a unique flavor. Shoppers can purchase OSMO x Four Roses Toasted Vanilla Bourbon Salt and a bottle of Four Roses Small Batch as a gift set from ReserveBar for $60.99.

Michter’s Celebration Sour Mash Returns
Following supply chain issues that delayed its release, Michter’s Distillery is launching the fourth edition of its Celebration releases: Michter’s Celebration Sour Mash. When the brand first launched the Celebration series in 2013, bottles priced in the prestige plus price tier were relatively rare, something that has normalized in the wake of recent premiumization trends. Each of the seven whiskies in this special blend rage from between twelve and thirty years old. Only 328 bottles of the recent iteration will be released worldwide, each bottled at 112.8 proof and selling for an SRP of $6,000 per 750mL bottle.

Ferrand Launches Chinese New Year Cognac
In its latest launch, Maison Ferrand released a limited edition cognac: Premier Cru 10 Générations Cognac. The new offering comes in time to welcome the year of the rabbit in celebration of the Chinese new year. The bottle is packaged in a red and gold detailed format to depict the ten generations of the Ferrand family.
The liquid itself is matured in French oak barrels before going through a second round in port barrels. The cognac tastes of chestnut, vanilla, white chocolate, honey, and cinnamon and is bottled at 44% ABV. Each 750mL bottle will retail for $54.28. (Source)
Espanita Tequila Unveils Limited Barrel Reserve Collection of Ultra-Premium Tequilas
Espanita Tequila welcomed a new limited-edition Barrel Reserve collection to its portfolio this month. Espanita Double Barrel Reposado Tequila finished in bourbon casks, is the first release from the limited-edition Barrel Reserve collection. The offering has a suggested retail price of $42.99 and is already available in selected markets.

Lexington Brewing & Distilling Releases Barrel-Aged Stout
Lexington Brewing & Distilling Co. in Kentucky announced the nationwide release of the Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Imperial Milk Stout. The stout features notes of chocolate, roasted coffee, and hints of molasses and dark roast flavors. The 100%-barrel-aged product features a beer-meets-bourbon finish and 12% alcohol by volume. Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Imperial Milk Stout has a suggested retail price of $16.99 per four-pack of 12-ounce bottles.
“The goal for this beer was to make something big and bold with subtle, sweet undertones,” said Brandon Martin, Head Brewer at Lexington Brewing & Distilling. “We wanted a beer that had all the characteristics of a big bold stout but was smooth on the palate.” (Source)
Carolans Irish Cream Launches Carolans Peanut Butter
Carolans Irish Cream has launched its latest line extension: Carolans Peanut Butter. The new product features a nutty, creamy flavor and is mixed with original Carolans Irish Cream, according to the press release. It’s made with ingredients such as farm-fresh Irish cream, Irish whiskey, and naturally harvested honey. It follows the release of Carolans Cold Brew and Carolans Salted Caramel as Carolans’ third line extension.

Dos Primos Introduces Dos Primos Tequila Añejo
This January, country singer Thomas Rhett and his cousin, Jeff Worn, introduced Dos Primos Tequila Añejo, the latest addition to the Dos Primos product line. Dos Primos Tequila Añejo is made from 100% blue agave sourced from estates in Los Altos and the valley area of Jalisco, Mexico, and aged for at least 13 months in bourbon barrels. The suggested retail price for a 750-ml. bottle of Dos Primos Tequila ranges from $39.99 to $54.99, depending on the variant.

Molson Coors Unveils Zero-Proof Canned Cocktail Roxie
Molson Coors Beverage Co. has invested in the low and no movement this January with news that the company is launching a line of zero-proof canned cocktails: Roxie. This is the company’s first-ever direct-to-consumer line of alcohol-free cocktails. The premium canned cocktails will debut in three flavors: passionfruit, pineapple, and mango. Shoppers can purchase 12-pack and single-flavor 4-pack formats of Roxie on the brand’s official website.

Jose Cuervo’s ultra-premium line of tequila, Reserva de la Familia, just released a 2023 collectors box. The box features a geometric abstraction of the landscape in Jalisco, Mexico where the spirit is made, created by Rolando Flores and Gabriel Cázares of the Tercerquinto Collective. Jose Cuervo works with internationally acclaimed artists each year to create the collector’s box.
