Cognac recovered sales in 2015 with 168.9 million bottles shipped. The North American market “continues to grow”, accounting for 13% of all 2015 shipments. Additionally, emerging markets in South Africa, Australia, and the Far East are gaining momentum.
The recovery is led by VS Cognac which grew 8% volume and 27.8% in value totally about half of all global shipments. Similarly, VSOP grew 13.1% volume at 28.2% value, respectively. The comeback signifies the recovery since the Chinese government’s anti-extravagance campaign.
