The ongoing case involving the Indiana state law forbidding wholesalers to hold permits to sell beer, wine, and spirits will be taken to the state’s Supreme Court. The Indiana Alcohol and Tobacco Commission and Spirited Sales have been battling it out in court since 2014 after the Commission denied the company a liquor wholesale permit. The permit was ultimately denied because Spirited Sales is “an affiliate of Monarch Beverage Co. Inc., Indiana’s largest beer and wine wholesaler.” Greg Zoeller, Indiana’s Attorney General, was the individual who requested the transfer. The move will ultimately move the case forward and help find a resolution in the near future.
