One of the new alcohol related bills recently proposed in Connecticut would allow self-serve alcohol machines. The bill would allow places like bars and restaurants, who are already authorized to sell alcohol that’s being consumed on-site, to have an automated machine that can serve wine, beer and/or liquor.
To ensure that the alcohol is only served to individuals of legal age the buyer would need a government issued ID that matches the name on his/her payment card. The retailer would be required to verify that the buyer is of legal age, as well as record the sale in a database that includes the payment card linked electronically.
